The Glenlivet 10K

The most beautiful run in Scotland – a 10 kilometre road race set in the stunning landscape of the iconic Glenlivet Crown Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. The incredible scenic running route follows quiet country roads which meander around the sublime River Livet passing ancient castles and providing amazing views of this secret glen. Music Nights at Glenlivet Hall

The Music Nights are held on the first Friday of each month from April to November inclusive – 7.30 to 10.00 pm. A very informal, mixed evening of music and song with free entry, bar and raffle. Nothing's planned – it all depends on who turns up to play!

Whisky Nosing and Tasting

Rock and Road Bike Festival

Get Cranked Up. The striking glens, flowing trails and winding roads of Tomintoul and Glenlivet are what cycling dreams are made of. With a sportive, sprint and mountain bike race for the adventurous, there’s also a packed programme of free demos, guided rides and workshops for all ages – so whether your weaponry is a trike or hardtail bike, you’re going to love this. The Moray Walking Festival

The Tomintoul 10K

Every Monday. An evening of traditional Scottish Music and Song for all in the Royal British Legion Lounge Dufftown, starting 19.30 (approx). Bring your musical instruments along or simply join us as a spectator and enjoy the music. Admission free.

Tomintoul Highland Games

Sat July 15

Tomintoul is proud to host it's own Highland Games , which are one of the highlights of the year. First held in 1842, these are one of the oldest in Scotland. They celebrate all things Scottish, from whisky to bagpipes and tartans. Alongside the "heavy" sports in Tomintoul's Public Park, there are piping competitions, Highland Dancing and - a local speciality - the Tomnabat Hill Race.

Tea in the Park


If you are in the area in August don't forget to visit "Tea in the Park" in the Glenlivet Village Hall. Sample traditional local fare prepared and served by some of Glenlivet's residents amidst an exhibition of local arts and crafts.

Dufftown Pipe Band

There are few more stirring sights and sounds in Scotland than the pipes, drums and dress tartans of a pipe band. Dufftown are fortunate enough to have their own small pipe band. Come and hear them play in the Square or in The Royal British Legion at approx 20:00

Scottish Country Dancing

May - Sep

A warm welcome awaits all visitors at the Memorial Hall when Dufftown Country Scottish Dance Club hold their classes 19.00-21.30. Come and join in the traditional Scottish dancing and music on the first Tuesday of the month.

Autumn Speyside Whisky Festival

Sep 22 - Sep 25

Five days of whisky-filled fun. There will be a varied programme of events based in Dufftown, which will include Whisky nosing and tastings, Distillery events, a Craft Fayre, a Whisky Auction and bus trips to Distilleries not normally open to the public.

The Red Deer Rut
